My name is Alheri and I blog at https://wildonworship.wordpress.com/
I am very excited to share a few thoughts. I pray for God’s blessings over your life and family!
Today, I will like to share a few things that have kept me going in difficult and stressful times. These are nuggets of truth that I hold very dear. I tuck them away in my heart, and when times get tough, I open the nuggets and remind myself of the eternal truths of God’s love for me!
A few months ago, I got a weird feeling. It was like a blanket of fear washed over me, and I became paranoid about my relationship with God. I became very worried that I would do something and God would abandon me. Then my friend Clara read 34 to me. Verse 16 says: “The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are attentive to their cry.”
How comforting is that! God speaks to you in the gentle voice in your heart. He sends people to you because He loves us like crazy. When I sit and think of myself in sin, I remember that God literally picks me up from my dirt and washes me clean, and then welcomes me home. Remember the story about the Forgiving Father? Yes, forgiving father, not prodigal son! The father is the center character in that story. He sits on his balcony waiting and hoping and longing for our return. He wants us home so badly that he literally does nothing else but knock ever so softly on the doors of our hearts! God will never force Himself on us. But once you accept his invitation and enter into His heavenly places, you will not even need someone to tell you how amazing it is to love the Lord!
If you are looking forward to receiving an unprecedented miracle in your life, you must be prepared to outdo others in your commitment to God, in total submission, obedience, soul-winning, sacrificial living, faith, and true worship. I am currently subscribed to Open Heavens devotional (where that quote is from) and it’s been a blessing. I can subscribe for you if you send me your email address. No jokes, Please!
I love this quote, but before I continue, I must mention that this does not mean that you make your Christianity a competition between you and other members of our Church for who speaks in tongues for the longest, or who fasts the most, or who sings most loudly during worship. It means that you fix your eyes on Jesus, listen to His promptings in your heart and obey Him. When Abraham agreed to sacrifice Isaac, he wasn’t after the fame, He was merely obeying the commandments of God, and see what his singular act of obedience has meant for all of us who are children of Abraham. Listen to the Holy Spirit, follow Jesus and obey God. You will never regret it. It is literally the best decision you can ever make.
That’s all for today friends! I am very humbled to share my thoughts with you all, and please drop a comment below!
